The challenge
In large-area, multistorey buildings or during work carried out in open space it is often very difficult to monitor the employees and record their late arrivals or unjustified breaks. It requires much unnecessary effort from managers but doesn’t usually bring the desired effects. Consequently, work efficiency is often much lower than expected, tasks get delayed and costs rise. The aim was to build: lightweight, wireless and almost unnoticeable tags which are available, for example, in the form of cards or key rings; base terminals that track and record tags’ signals; the terminals are easy to install and they require just a standard power supply; easy-to-use web panel which gives access to all recorded data. Additionally, we offer periodical reports that can be used to settle accounts with employees and, in some cases, with Clients.
The wireless tags, hidden in small objects (such as cards), can be used to monitor the location of employees, measure time spent at each location, and even record problems such as unexpected absence or inactivity. Base terminals record the location of the beacons and transmit them to an easy-to-use computer system.
The result
Actual working time can be monitored automatically and remotely, without inconveniencing the employees. Wireless tags, hidden in small objects (for example cards), can be used for monitoring the employees’ location, measuring the time they spend in each place and even for registering issues like unexpected absence or inactivity. On the contrary to surveillance cameras, tags work even without any lighting; they don’t require power supply and are absolutely autonomous. Unlike time-sheets, tags record the true working time, not just one’s declarations. ZeitenGeist detects location very precisely. It distinguishes floors and rooms in buildings, so the managing staff receives accurate information on where the employees are. All information can be accessed via a web panel. The location of each worker can be displayed on a map or on a floor plan. The system also provides detailed reports.
How does it work? It’s simple. Employees receive small objects, for example cards, that they are obliged to carry at work all the time. The monitored area or building gets equipped in base terminals (in open air - 1 for every 400 sq m, in buildings - usually 1 per room, placed near the sources of power supply). Base stations record tags movement and transmit data to a server. A web panel provides easy access to these data and generates reports.
