EMBIQ had the opportunity to collaborate with Smart Factor, a company known for creating intelligent solutions based in Warsaw. The project aimed to develop and implement an advanced waste management system, leveraging the power of IoT and LoRaWAN technology. The project was divided into three phases: Proof of Concept (PoC), Pilot, and Product.

The main challenge was to engineer a system capable of efficiently managing waste disposal in urban environments. The system was required to handle user management, location management, object group management, object management, gateway management, and transmitter management. Additionally, it necessitated the integration of proximity sensors with LoRaWAN transmitters and a LoRaWAN Gateway.
This project was a remarkable journey. We had the chance to develop a solution that could significantly improve urban waste management. Successfully completing all phases is a testament to our team's commitment and expertise.
During the PoC phase, EMBIQ developed an API for authorized token events, modified the GUI for deployment, and procured hardware for LoRaWAN. This included proximity sensors, LoRa tags, batteries, enclosures, and a LoRa gateway. The system was then deployed and configured for remote sensor management. The solution provided a comprehensive waste management system, with features such as log management and detailed object view. The system was designed to be user-friendly, with an intuitive interface that allowed for easy navigation and management.
The integration of LoRaWAN technology was a pivotal aspect of this project. It enabled us to create a system that could effectively manage and monitor waste disposal in real-time. It's thrilling to see how our work can contribute to smarter and more sustainable cities.
